Joe Paterno's Statue gets Taken Down.

Legendary coach Joe Paterno's statue was taken down from in front of the Penn State University today. As you all may remember, Joe Paterno was accused of covering up child sexual abuse allegations for one of his staff members, Assistant Coach, Jerry Sandusky. Jerry Sandusky was recently tried and convicted on 48 counts of child sexual abuse dating back to the 90's. Jerry Sandusky was convicted of sexually abusing boys at his Second Mile Foundation and at Penn State University.
Joe Paterno was fired from Penn State when the allegations surfaced about Jerry Sandusky. Joe Paterno died of lung cancer in January 2012.
Penn State University has been under scrutiny for keeping Joe Paterno's statue up and finally decided to take the statue down. Many people felt betrayed and disgusted that the statue remained, especially after a Private Investigator's report concluded that Joe Paterno was aware of the abuse allegations against Sandusky and did nothing about it.
